Intensives Driving Courses

Two hour introductory driving lesson £25. An introductory driving lesson is the best way to decide if a driving instructor is going to be right for you. After a two hour introductory driving lesson your instructor will be able to give you accurate advice and together you will be able to plan your future driving tuition.

Cost

Many factors affect the overall cost of learning to drive such as your age, any previous experience, whether you will be able to practice between lesson and where you live.

Studies by the Driving Standards Agency show that successful test candidates will have received about 40 hours of tuition. In our experience 30 hours is a minimum for a keen youngster with no previous experience.
Intensive course, Residential or Hourly lessons?

Many people feel that hourly lessons go on and on forever. One of the many advantages of an intensive course that you learn to drive over a short period of time. We recommend that courses are strictly one to one so that you can learn at your own pace. Your instructor will monitor your ability on a continuous basis and discuss your progress with you regularly.

Typically courses can last from one to five days with morning and afternoon sessions each lasting two or three hours with occasional breaks and separated by a lunch break of at least an hour.

You or your instructor should arrange your driving test a few days after completion of your course. Experience shows that you will perform better on test if you are well rested and fresh on the day. Consider leaving enough time to cancel the test without loss of the test fee if necessary. Just knowing that you have the option will help prevent molehills becoming mountains during your course and make the whole experience much more enjoyable. Learning with a local driving instructor is preferable to a residential intensive driving course. Without the added cost of travel and accommodation it will be cheaper too. Residential driving courses almost invariably involve taking the practical driving test on the last day of the course.

Far better to take the test in a relaxed frame of mind after a few day's break from constant driving and a good night's sleep in your own bed. A practical test cannot be booked until you have passed your Theory test therefore it is recommended, though not essential, that you pass the Theory test before commencing an intensive course. Your instructor will be glad to advise when you arrange your introductory lessons.
